OMS — Order Management System
An OMS (Order Management System) receives, processes, manages and tracks customer orders — the core system for the order lifecycle. Openstone’s OMS is built for multi-owner warehouse fulfillment.
What is an OMS
An OMS is the hub of the order lifecycle: it receives orders from e-commerce, stores and phone channels, then carries them through stock checks, payment and invoicing, warehouse work and delivery tracking, all the way to after-sales service and analytics. It integrates with ERP, CRM, finance and WMS so data and processes flow automatically.
The shape of an OMS varies by industry: retail and e-commerce focus on multi-channel intake and fulfillment speed; warehousing and logistics focus on document flow and dispatching work. Openstone’s OMS is the latter — inbound and outbound orders managed per cargo owner, driving warehouse tasks.
Note: in other fields OMS can also stand for Outage Management System; on this site it always means Order Management System.

Openstone’s OMS
Built in-house for owner-based fulfillment: inbound and outbound orders act as owner instructions, generate warehouse tasks and dispatch to the WMS automatically.
- Strict owner scoping: documents, stock and counts belong to one owner — warehouse work never mixes owners
- Order-driven fulfillment: inbound/outbound orders become warehouse tasks, dispatched to the WMS automatically
- Virtual warehouse mapping: virtual warehouses mirror real sites and their WMS; bin locations stay in the WMS
- Odoo 18 + Airflow + FastAPI: scheduled tasks and a stable external API
